Hi all.....I haven't had problems before on other machines with make-kpkg.
Just used it to upgrade the kernel to 2.4.22 on a machine at work, and have
had a horrible time.

I get the message: "fsck ext3 No such file or directory while trying to
open /dev/hdb2" which is my root directory. Then the kernel reads:
"root rs currently read-only" I fix this by logging in as root, then with
#mount -n -o remount,rw /
If I do this, it mounts as an ext3 partition and I can access the files, use
make menconfig, edit lilo.conf and so on.

I do not have initrd in my lilo.conf
The machine boots from /dev/hda/ which is a WinXP drive (no problems in the
past). I can still boot into XP from lilo.

I cannot, however, run lilo anymore on /dev/hdb2 (it thinks /dev/hda is a
raid drive or something.)
I did not enable raid in the kernel. I did enable the /proc file system. I
also tried installing (and uninstalling) the /dev filesystem at boot time in
the kernel(experimental)....doesn't seem to make a difference.

Sorry I don't have a copy of lilo.conf or fstab handy (I can't copy them
over when I'm in linux now.

Suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Glen
