You'll notice here that apt-get is trying to fetch the Packages file for the "binary-darwin-x86_64" architecture. Debian doesn't (currently, it may not ever) support the Darwin operating system. You're having the same problem that someone using cygwin on Win32 would have, namely you're trying to mix two different operating systems. -- Paul Saunders
