Good evening all, I have just updated/upgraded my testing system this evening, and all went OK except for one error message and I am unsure how to resolve the problem that dpkg has encountered. The message is:
Preconfiguring packages ... (Reading database ... 50115 files and directories currently installed.) Preparing to replace xfree86-common 4.2.1-6 (using .../xfree86-common_4.2.1-11_all.deb) ... Setting up X server socket directory /tmp/.X11-unix...done. Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/xfree86-common_4.2.1-11_all.deb localepurge: checking system for new locale ... localepurge: processing locale files ... localepurge: processing man pages ... E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) Ack! Something bad happened while installing packages. Trying to recover: Press return to continue. Would someone be so kind as to point me to some reading so that I can learn to interpret these messages and resolve the problem, or tell me how to resolve the problem. Everything seems to be working OK after the upgrade, but when I go into aptitude, it still reports the "xfree96-common" package as upgradable. Thanks in advance for your help. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Lonnie Sutton - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Bainbridge Island, WA 98110 ---------------------------------------------------------------- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
