My laptop is connected to the internet with a wireless USB modem. When I plug in the network cable it autoconfigures eth0 changes the DNS and domain name... dmesg:- e100: eth0 NIC Link is Down e100: eth0 NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex And ifconfig shows the configuration of the device has changed between the two events. How is that not configuring the device? I do hope this is not a pendatic exercise about the difference between a cable and a connection, or "by itself". Confused -- Tuttle? His name's Buttle.
