Well Kent, I am afraid we are on our own this time!

But anyway I try it again: is there a kernel command line option that disables parallelization of initialization and fixes the order of it? It would help me to understand why Squeeze is so reluctant at booting on my machine. BTW I noticed that the kernel booted by the installation process says `pci: disabling MMCONFIG' or something alike. Is it safe to run an ordinary system with this setting? If yes, how can I arrange so that my system disables MMCONFIG as well?

What is the standard procedure to determine why a kernel refuses to boot? Thanks!
