That's wrong for the official repositories, or basically any time there is 
more than one dists/.  It works for your mirror because you only keep one 
dists/ around.

The pool/ directory includes package files for all available dists/.  In 
particular on the master server this includes Lenny, Squeeze, Wheezy, Sid, 
Experimental, Lenny-Proposed-Updates, Squeeze-Proposed-Updates, Wheezy-
Proposed-Updates, and Squeeze-Updates.  So, many (probably most) packages will 
have multiple versions available.
