Yea, right. But can You show the command line for the aptitude?
I have tried this:

/usr/bin/aptitude search ~O 'Debian Backports'

/usr/bin/aptitude search ~O Debian\ Backports

/usr/bin/aptitude search ~O Debian Backports

- all returned same bunch of packages that lets me think I have not
  achieved my goal.
