I updated my Sid machine this morning and one of the files was an "updated" xorg.video.intel package. My system was running fine - but since the update, X refuses to load the Intel driver and instead runs Vesa in 1280x960 on my 1920x1650 LCD monitor. There are black areas top and bottom of the monitor and the text is squished vertically. With an xorg.conf using Intel, and modeset=1 the xorg log just ends saying no screens found. Turning shadow buffer on and off changes nothing. Making modeset=0 and removing the xorg.conf changes nothing. How can I get the Intel driver back again? Should I re-install the old driver? I have filed a bug. This routine with the Intel driver has been going on for a while, as soon as I get a working driver, it's improved. - - -- - - -- Frank -- - -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJM/6sIAAoJEMEDyLTvrVhjS4UH/jKw8DkFOaqcr1epruV8yx42 PBZ/k8HodC5A8/eD/L2gvpVe84GNFSA50lPoJRaZ17NM8x2vmc5ixZ3FTbcz2t88 4YSMRx2PwWGz+j8wo/44LJUDnCVH3Jr6apZb2nhqPcYxOI4Y6b/28fkvUgsb2aOX 2NF4J3rqj5JW6cplJXhJCSa2tSN+keXgptuD9aSysPGmDTyTQJQF6PxnZ06EQcu0 hQQkCRPK3/W4FuSssPXZ2auNMX8NoO4vgCUXXJg9n2T1J/rYuyk2vJIND7HN0KwF 9v0gLOk7qKFcQi0gZmJO/0XyE/+Nh4c6Nwd1iBK2oEir3kuMovoIg17h8rewboE= =LSZI - -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJM/7FvAAoJEMEDyLTvrVhjFBEH+wVJ93MWjUnNEyBmYp3hncpk lE0lJu4Q0U2eoeijyYIhcS0W73dAdf/d/MP04R9HbKE697AwkkWDAa52iWn2Dx1i Zm2y3PEfJoOw1LHaTWosDs0bm9jHxchhypKvnU+Lap0OONNu/52Yvycdib1KholV wOS7CP8xksZnsJfmB6AQb5TvbjIlslb6pJtOfwluYNCBm3tjJpiCKB+mEnpB1TQs nJbMC+K+Vdjhp9OhQWGPDY5tCyectEKN/rKpX+AHi5GTHUMuBfueSP/PEjvbMZeg 3P9LMaCTr7CUKfhmS4TIMopO6AOsMaMGL6eFQFGfrk4nvfkc5HuSXMXKnOqgB3A= =eLsv -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
