When I do
ssh -X
I can run xlogo,
but I get trouble with software involving OpenGL .

Yep, sorry, my bad. Too little coffee for me...
Of course ssh -X works (I use it all the time for running Iceweasel on
a remote machine). What trouble do you get? Can you run glxgears
remotely? OpenGL may require quite some bandwidth.
