Latest developments: Farnell have told me that the catalogue CD was produced by Stibo <http://www.stibocatalog.com> - so I have written to them asking for suggestions on reading their catalogues under Linux, and also suggested that they should include a statically-linked Linux version of the catalogue reading software on such CDs.
