I don't have an answer, but I can tell you it's not 'just you'.
Using an HP 1200 Business Inkjet, hplip & Cups I get similar things.
The only difference being that the unwanted background here is printed
in yellow.
I wouldn't mind, but ink and toner cost money. :-(
