This may be unrelated, but I noticed from the log that ACPI is disabled.  A 
standard
stock Debian kernel has ACPI enabled by default.  The only way it should fail 
is if
you have a kernel boot parameter to disable it.  Please post your /etc/lilo.conf
file.
