Something like this (using PostgreSQL)?

$ psql -d mydatabase -c "CREATE TABLE diskcat (directory text not null,

$ for f in `find mydirectory -type f`
  do
        echo -e "`dirname $f`\t`basename $f`"
  done | psql -d mydatabase -c "COPY diskcat FROM STDIN"
