I just followed the instructions at http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-virtualbox-3.0-on-an-ubuntu-9.04-desktop I installed 3.1 instead of 3.0.x and I'm running Ubuntu. Don't forget to change "jaunty" to "squeeze" in the repository entry.
