Yes, this can be done. From my mount output: /dev/sda6 on / type ext3 (rw,errors=remount-ro) /dev/sda7 on /home type ext3 (rw) The boot loader (at least Grub) can load components from logical partitions, I belive. Someone can correct inaccuracies in my statement. Kumar -- Kumar Appaiah
