:) Point taken. Actually, it looks like I *am* having connectivity problems (sorry, just got the laptop from a friend) - I'm not able to visit that site, unfortunately. I downloaded the debian.exe file on another computer and copied it over. The Wikipedia article on the installer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/win32-loader_(Debian)) mentions that there's a way to have it get it's data from the CD-ROM drive, but so far I haven't figured it out. I'll see if I can't resolve my networking issue and then I'll try that. In the meantime, do you have any suggestions for how I might fix my problem without the web?
