You should strongly consider upgrading these machines to lenny (which is the current stable release.) That said, if for some reason you absolutely must run sarge,[1] you can do so by pointing your machines at archive.debian.org instead of mirrors.kernel.org; see sources.list(5) for details. Finally, you don't need to install synaptic to install printer support for your machines.
