I changed the mount option to ext2. It looks to me that the performance doesn't get improved. I used the bootchartd to measure the boot time, it's almost the same ( http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/kzzkWbhe49Nx_HRiC4vrCA?authkey=Gv1sRgCO7m6un5r8KvJQ&feat=directlink) Use zoom out icon at the right top to see the large pic. Especially when I open xfce, the disk is busy with being read, that's when I feel it's very slow with GUI application. I guess there may be performance issue on X11, but not the base system.
