Good day. I just have installed Debian 5.01 on Athlon 1.6 computer with an old sound card. When I try to play a sound file w/ mplayer - I see how the time digits are changing but hear no sound. I tried to run alsamixer - it shows all the channels of the card and set everyone to max - still no sound.
