I have no idea what it does, but I would suggest creating a symlink to
it.  While in its directory, do

ln -s libgstladspa.so libgstladspa

AFTER you've renamed it back to its original name, of course.  That
way, pidgin should work, and other programs which need the file as
originally named will be able to find it as well.
