-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 1. CUPS in Lenny will *not* print:
1.1 An icedove e-mail. The print window gives only one option: PostScript/default. It will not print to printer (no job appears in the spool), nor will it print to file. 1.2 Files from dosemu applications, e.g. WordPerfect 5.1 2. CUPS in Lenny *will* print, both to the printer and to a file: 2.1 The printer test page from http://localhost:631/printers/HP2P (not to file, obviously, in this case). 2.1 HTML files from Iceweasel, Iceape composer and Konqueror. 2.2 OpenOffice 3 files. 2.3 pdf files, either with acroread or from a plugin in Iceweasel or Knoqueror. My printer is an HP LaserJet IIP with driver CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.2(en). My computer is a Lenovo R61 with a dual core CPU. I have not set it up for 64 bit; but I am using xfs file system. Xprint is also installed, but I don't think any application is using it; everything that works is using CUPS. I am not having this problem with a P4 desktop with the ext3 file system which still has Etch. Could it be that the different file system (xfs instead of ext3) or the dual core CPU instead of P4, or both is/are causing the problem? These are the only differences I can detect between the two boxes.
