Back in the good old days of Etch, when I needed to edit a hidden file, I sometimes would open it with gedit by using Ctrl-L, and then obtain the file, and open it. I did this after upgrading to Lenny, and now find that every single application, always, shows every file, be it hidden or not. Or, in other words, hidden files are no longer hidden.
