Check 'xdpyinfo | grep dime'. You should get the physical dimensions of 
your screen. If they are wrong you can put the correct values in 
xorg.conf. If they are correct, then you should adjust the font sizes in 
each application as needed.

TuxCommander (package tuxcmd), but it's not in Lenny. Krusader is also 
an option, but much heavier. I also tried xfe, but I didn't like it for 
some reason (don't recall what).
