Thank you, Ken, I am aware of that list and subscribe to it. That list
is great for Microsoft bashing, discussing animal-themed backgrounds
twice a year, and bikesheding. Technical issues are understood by a
overwhelmed and outvoiced minority there. Which is quite why I posted
my question here.
Hahaa! That's sad and funny at the same time. I didn't realize how bad
it is. Maybe that's why we get so many Ubuntu users posting questions here.
Do you feel that my question was OT for the Debian list? Are
Debian-derived distros considered taboo by yourself or other list
members? Would the issue have been different had I been on a clean
Debian install and not a Debian-derived installation? These are
serious questions, not trolls. If I'm on the wrong turf just let me
know.
Nah, your question was fairly general and wasn't geared around any
specific distribution. That's why I answered it. However, at the same
time, we have to keep this mailing list in check so that Ubuntu users
posting Ubuntu-specific issues don't get the wrong idea that this
mailing list is for Unbuntu support. I'm sorry that I used you as an
example when your question wasn't Ubuntu-specific at all.
That said, take your stinking question to the OpenSSH mailing list next
time! Just kidding! :-)
