Hi
I've been testing the 2.6 kernel series on my laptop, and have a
recurrent (but low priority) issue. I'm running sarge. While booting up,
when the system begins starting init scripts, it immediately starts
spewing characters like so:

@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL
PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL
PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]

This behaviour doesn't occur under the 2.4.x kernels, and I compile very
similar (not identical, of course) options into both. I'm using ACPI,
external usb keyboard and mouse, and so on. As I can't input the symbols
into google (which doesn't see them as searchable characters), I'm not
sure what causes them. I've tried compiling with certain hardware
components left out, but this has not changed anything.
Anyone seen this behaviour before? Got an answer, or a url I can use to
work this out?
Regards and TIA,
Damien
