I have uploaded a version of Chrony (chrony_1.23-6rt) with support for the SCHED_FIFO real-time scheduler to Experimental. Running Chronyd with this feature enabled should result in decreased (and more consistent) latency. Please test, especially if you have the means to measure latency variation. The feature is documented in the Chronyd man page and in the comments in chrony.conf (but not in the info docs).
