Programs should not crash, so please report a bug. > Below is a strace of the problem. This does not give any hint, because the program is not crashing in a system call. You need to install mplayer-dbg and run mplayer under gdb to get a meaningful backtrace of the problem. If the crash happens in a library rather than in mplayer, you need its -dbg package as well.
