-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 In the four months I have owned this machine I have not been successful in printing from it. (It has Lenny installed, kernel 2.6.26-1-686; machine is dual core.)
Whenever I try, CUPS shows the job, but shows the following with respect to the printer: LJ2P (Default Printer) "recoverable: Network host '192.168.0.10' is busy; will retry in 5 seconds..." Description: Hewlett-Packard LaserJet II P Location: Solarium Printer Driver: HP LaserJet 2P - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.2 Printer State: processing, accepting jobs, published. Device URI: lpd://192.168.0.10/P1 - From that point on nothing happens. (I have waited for a response for at least ten minutes, which is surely enough to know whether *anything* will happen.) I cannot understand why the "recoverable: ..." message is displayed, as there is nothing else being sent to the printer from anywhere except the one job I want to print from the ThinkPad. In CUPS I can stop the printer and restart it so that CUPS displays the following: LJ2P (Default Printer) Description: Hewlett-Packard LaserJet II P Location: Solarium Printer Driver: HP LaserJet 2P - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.2 Printer State: idle, accepting jobs, published. Device URI: lpd://192.168.0.10/P1 After cancelling the job and resending it, CUPS once again displays the "recoverable: ...", with the same result as before. My spouse is able to print from his P4 box with Etch installed, to the same print server URL, but I have never been able to from my ThinkPad. I would appreciate guidance as to what is wrong I what I can do about it. Regards, Ken Heard, Toronto. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkkHOGUACgkQlNlJzOkJmTdwEACfXcwK0O0QMYSu1QTSIzGyDqWk /dgAn2yKvb3rBjseZCcXiI6K4VHUlnGO =FPnl -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
