It turns out that docvert-converter (not -controller) and docvert-openoffice
are identical scripts, and yet both are linked from rc2.d.  I tried deleting
one link and enabling the other, but the hanging recurred.  So, I can
confirm: docvert-converter (and/or its duplicate docvert-openoffice) causes
my laptop to hang on boot.  I'll see if anyone's filed a bug, and, if not,
do it myself.
