Try getting the xorg.conf file (in /etc/X11) out of the way by renaming it to something else and then restart gdm (log out and press CTRL+ALT+BKSPC). Xorg should create a new file while detecting the supported resolutions. -- Please reply to this list only. I read this list on its corresponding newsgroup on gmane.org.
