I am trying to install Debian on an ELAN SC520 headless system. I have done it before with at 2.4 kernel a year or so ago. I have a 2.6.18 kernel that that I made and I am using the business card install from a Compact Flash. I have the kernel and the initrd on one partition and the business card.iso on another partition. GRUB starts up fine, kernel boots, installer starts no problem. I have a problem when I get to "Detecting hardware to find hard drives". This parts seems to finish and go to 100%. The screen clears, then small delay, and the same "Detecting hardware to find hard drives" starts over again. It will keep looping like this. Any ideas?
