you wrote that you want to crop .eps graphics
i know nothing about .eps graphics,
but 'apropos eps' said :
epsffit (1) - fit encapsulated PostScript file (EPSF) intoconstrained size
epstopdf (1)- convert an EPS file to PDF
so it looks like first one should do what you want,
and if not, then you may be able to use gimp
(either directly or after transforming image to another format).
