Did you also purge its dependencies and reinstalled from official repos? I think the relevant dependencies are: ffmpeg libavcodec51 libavdevice52 libavformat52 libavutil49 libpostproc51 libswscale0 but I would go for every dependency just to be sure. AFAIK, many users are having the same problem and I think the recommendation from debian is to use only official packages.
