Hi,
When I boot 2.6.24-1-686 the first few lines in /var/log/dmesg contain:
[ 0.000000] Initializing cgroup subsys cpuset
[ 0.000000] Linux version 2.6.24-1-686 (Debian 2.6.24-5)
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.1.3 20070812 (prerelease) (Debian
4.1.2-15)) #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Mar 31 09:43:32 CST
2008
[ 0.000000] BIOS-provided physical RAM map:
Note that the second line is the system id that is booted.
When I boot 2.6.25.3 /var/log/dmesg the first few lines are:
ioport range 0x4d0-0x4d1 has been reserved
[ 0.173128] system 00:03: ioport range 0x290-0x297 has been reserved
[ 0.204345] PCI: Bridge: 0000:00:01.0
No system info.
Anybody knows why the diff?
Because I had CONFIG_LOG_BUF_SHIFT=14 and Debian always has
CONFIG_LOG_BUF_SHIFT=16 in the kernel .config
Now I get the version on the 2nd line.
I'm surprised at you people. How you're going to do well on the final
exam if you don't have this at your fingertips?
