They're probably the unofficial ports/backports from

  http://people.debian.org/~mmagallo/packages/xfree86/
  
I got 4.3.0-0ds2.0.0woody1 source from there, compiled it, and it
worked fine apart from the odd dpkg --sledgehammer to remove
obstreperous 4.1 packages. Maybe these apparently more recent
versions have a bug in the control files? In case it's of any help,
I've attached for comparison the control.tar.gz from my locally-built
xlibs-data_4.3.0-0ds2.0.0woody1_all.deb (converted to bzip2 format,
which makes it 15% smaller).
