1) You almost certainly have a lot more than 30 processes running. Try
"ps vax" to see what is using all that virtual memory.
2) You almost certainly have a problem with kbuildsycoca. It's using 98%
of the mill time of one of your cores. A reboot may fix the problem.
3) You may also have a problem with iceape-bin, as it's using 55% of the
mill time of one of your cores.

It doesn't seem kosher to have to reboot a GNU/Linux system to recover
full responsivity. That sounds like a MS Windows solution ... or am I
being just too optimistic?
How do I address problems with a kbuildsycoca and iceape-bin?
