Hello all, I have an Asus EN7300GT silent that uses the nVidia chipset.
Where possible, I try to go with free drivers. I had noticed a picture-quality improvment when watching DVDs if I use the debian-packaged nVidia driver. I notice a huge performance improvement using kpdf in that the rendering of the next page happens a lot faster (blink of an eye vs a second or so) with the nVidia driver. I thought that all the nVidia driver provided over the nv was 3D hardware rendering instead of 2D hardware/3D software rendering. Surely, kpdf is 2D? Does anybody here understand the innards of this?
