It's really fixed now - Subsequent reboots are fine, including shutdown -rF. Between the complexity of this and my relative inexperience, I am not going to know exactly what caused the errors. But I learned a lot about what to do if I ever see it again. That dialog about control-D or entering maintenance mode doesn't make sense to me - I hit "n", it echoes "no", but then proceeds to run and work! Things are fine now, but I need to start a new thread about restoring apache. Thanks again Doug. -John -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
