I have two problems (that are debian related).
1. I need to automatically applying a kernel patch to
the sources at build-time (make-kpkg).
2. I need to build custom kernel modules at the same
time
The intent is to generate a VERY customised kernel installation for
internal use in the company I work for.
We are already able to build and deploy a custom configured kernel build
from either 'debian' or 'kernel.org' sources, and been manually
(scripted really) building our custom modules and adding them to the
kernel-image debian file by unpacking, inserting and re-packing the
.deb. This DOES work but seems KLUDGY. The recent need to apply a
patch to one kernel module has caused me to want to clean up the process
somewhat.
I have attempted to nut out the '-added-patches' & '-added-modules'
options for 'make-kpkg' - but these seem specifically targeted at
(pre)existing patches/modules, and I wish to generate my own.
Any and all help appreciated

PS: RTFM resulted in numerous attempts at building custom kernels
but no ability to automatically apply local patches, nor build custom
modules.
STFW resulted in MANY, MANY references to the same documents
and procedures that RTFM found.
I have installed module-assistant - this didn't help much -
it just keeps saying 'fred, what is fred?'
