added a testing line to my /etc/apt/sources.list, apt-got updated, and
then apt-got installed kernel-image-2.4.20-3-686. not perfect yet, as
i think i managed to fu debconf bar, but we'll see ... if i have to
reinstall at this point, i know how to do it :)
