Maybe some iptables rule? iptables -L gives ACCEPT for all ( input, output, forward)
I always setup gateways with shorewall. First you need to activate forwarding in /etc/shorewall/shorewall.conf I haven't this file ? and then change /etc/shorewall/masq to suit your config.
