Why not place hub or switch between modem and other computers. Then you can communicate between 2 computers. If for any reason, ethernet side can have one host address but if you have 2 ethernet card on LInux server, then run NAT server on Linux server connected to the ADSL modem so windows can hide behind Linux server.
