When installing a new system (etch), is there any trick I need to know for getting my home directory right? I have the one from old system backed up. When I go to restore it on the new system, I assume the installer will have put some kind of home directory on the new system under my username. I want to make sure that in the merged version of my home directory I have everything I need from both the backup home directory and the home directory created by the installer. For starters, do I need to copy in the backup home directory right after I do the base install, or after I have downloaded additional packages?
