(as a hobbyist) I have played with a lot of different video capture utils and formats to see what gives the "best" output for me. I once experimented, for example, with using mplayer to capture from bttv in mjpeg format. However, the file was not readable by lavtools. (Thankfully, we have transcode to convert it). Upon inspection of ~/.mplayer/codecs.conf, it seems that there are differing implementations of MJPEG: Morgan, Mainactor, ffmpeg...all of them, apparently, just slightly incompatible. If anyone needs input on how to capture from TV, drop me a line. I'll be happy to share what I know (although it may not be of much help to you, depending on your setup). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
