Hello All, I've been having some issues on my IBM netfinity server toybox. For some reason the networkcard stops working while there is no apparent reason. Sometimes it happens during transfers, sometimes just while it's idle. In /var/log/messages I get the following notifications.
I'm using Debian etch and the RT61 drivers from ralink. normal behavior is like this (/var/log/messages): Jan 5 15:25:49 Netfinity kernel: a1:35:d0:01:7e:07:28:61:e0:5b:2b:82:ce:c5:aa:b8: Jan 5 15:25:49 Netfinity kernel: 1b:6f:f9:1e:5e:22:13:9b: Jan 5 15:25:49 Netfinity kernel: 47:80:09:1d:cc:4e:6a:aa: Jan 5 15:41:41 Netfinity -- MARK -- but when things go wrong I get the following: Jan 5 17:25:55 Netfinity kernel: TxRing0 PBF=22222422, HwIdx=18, SwIdx[19]=00.00.00.00.DmaIdx[18]=00.00.00.00.d9:62:94:af:0e:30:33:58:ad:3f:09:a9:bc:f9:a9:fc: Jan 5 17:25:55 Netfinity kernel: 3b:9c:13:f7:f2:40:49:21: Jan 5 17:25:55 Netfinity kernel: ef:ba:fb:7f:12:fc:16:45: Jan 5 17:25:57 Netfinity kernel: d9:62:94:af:0e:30:33:58:ad:3f:09:a9:bc:f9:a9:fc: Jan 5 17:25:57 Netfinity kernel: 3b:9c:13:f7:f2:40:49:21: Jan 5 17:25:57 Netfinity kernel: ef:ba:fb:7f:12:fc:16:45: Jan 5 17:25:59 Netfinity kernel: d9:62:94:af:0e:30:33:58:ad:3f:09:a9:bc:f9:a9:fc: Jan 5 17:25:59 Netfinity kernel: 3b:9c:13:f7:f2:40:49:21: Jan 5 17:25:59 Netfinity kernel: ef:ba:fb:7f:12:fc:16:45: Jan 5 17:26:01 Netfinity kernel: d9:62:94:af:0e:30:33:58:ad:3f:09:a9:bc:f9:a9:fc: Jan 5 17:26:01 Netfinity kernel: 3b:9c:13:f7:f2:40:49:21: Jan 5 17:26:01 Netfinity kernel: ef:ba:fb:7f:12:fc:16:45: Jan 5 17:26:05 Netfinity kernel: 1f:ad:0e:ed:73:18:3c:59:b4:27:de:c2:9f:12:e4:1b: Jan 5 17:26:05 Netfinity kernel: 89:74:56:fb:90:bc:01:b9: and the above keeps going till shutdown. Anyone any experience with this? I've used this card before in another machine with the same drivers and that machine didn't have any problems. Difference is that this machine is an SMP machine (2x 600MHz, 2GB Memory). The card itself will remain visible in ifconfig, so it's not really going down, it just doesn't transfer anymore. When I do '/etc/init.d/networking restart' then the issue is resolved again. To me it seems like he can't associate anymore with my wireless router, maybe because of an WPA (PSK/TKIP) issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Tom Raus -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
