Easily possible.  You use whatever package management tool you use to do
it.  Remove enverything related to KDE.  If you've used aptitude, you
likely have the KDE meta-package installed.  Remove it.  Note that if
you keep some KDE apps that you'll hang on to some KDE libs.  Its not a
problem to use KDE apps in Gnome or any other desktop environment (DTE)
or window manager.  

To install Gnome, you should be able to just install the Gnome
meta-package.  However, I don't know for sure since I don't use any DTE.
