How old is the system? I've found that linux tends to drop support for old hardware as time passes. It could also be a hardware problem. However, before you throw out the drives or the system, I'd suggest, as a fast and easy test, grabbing the OpenBSD floppy42.fs bootfloppy (assuming that the old box boots from floppy) and try booting it. If it completes booting, go to a shell and check dmesg and the logs to look for any errors. If there are errors, then it may be a hardware issue. If there aren't, it may be a linux kernel driver issue. Doug. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
