That's a newbie doc? :) Clear as mud. I've used Etch for a year, Synaptic and Apt-Get. Every time people suggest aptitude, the next two paragraphs are about how if you've used apt-get before then (insert two paragraphs of incomprehensible warnings). So exercising an abundance of caution I usually stick with synaptic.
