Unfortunately, this machine uses Lilo instead of Grub. Can something similar be done to enter 'single user mode' when booting using Lilo? -- Mark I don't have a machine with LILO on it to test with, but, try the word "single" at the LILO: prompt, e.g. LILO: single Press RETURN.
