I recently installed Debian Etch on my Macbook(Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 1GB RAM). I followed the helpful wiki entry at http://wiki.debian.org/MacBook However, configuring the microphone to work seems to be needlessly complicated. I am reluctant to try out compiling the kernel and patching it as suggested. Is there an easier solution?
